Laboratory Testing

The UKAS Accredited Sira laboratory offers a wide range of world-renowned test facilities that are used primarily in support of Sira’s Product Certification business but which are also available to customers as stand alone services.

Our customers include both equipment manufacturers and users. Tests routinely requested, either as part of their development programme or on final product, include the following.

• The effects of long term exposure to high humidity as well as high and/or low temperature
• The testing of enclosures for ingress protection and resistance to impacts
• The testing for the resistance to light properties of plastics
• The investigation into the ability of an enclosure to withstand pressures produced either by an internal ignition of an explosive gas mixture or from a hydraulic source

In addition to our standard testing capabilities, our experiences in general testing and our ability to construct bespoke test rigs make us an ideal partner for potential customers to come to with a particular testing requirement.
