In September 2005, Sira Test & Certification Ltd announced an acquisition by Volvere plc, the UK safety services and investment group.

The acquisition has enabled Sira Test & Certification Ltd to build on its position as one of the world's foremost certification businesses for both the IECEx and European ATEX certification schemes.

Sira Test & Certification Ltd is also a sister company of Sira Environmental Limited, which specialise in Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS) and is based in Crayford, Kent.
